There was the report and election conference of the Students' Scientific Society of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University during which a report on its work in the 2012-2013 academic year was discussed and the new members of the Society were elected.

In the past academic year the Student Society has accomplished a lot ??in the field of science. 3 international and 13 national student conferences and seminars were held at the University. About 4 thousand students who were actively working on research and development of state, budget, and department scientific topics were involved in the scientific and research work in 297 groups during the reporting period. Students have the opportunity to publish their own articles and abstracts in 26 student books. During the reporting period the University students have done about 1250 publications. The most talented USPU students annually take part in various contests and competitions. Irina Kulik, the Deputy Chairman of the Students' Scientific Society reported about the work at the conference, and Mariya Krayeva, the member of the Students' Scientific Society reported about the activities of the Ukrainian Philology Department, Yulia Vakulina, another member of the Students' Scientific Society reported about the work of the Sociology and Psychology Department, Tetyana Volynska, the 3rd year student of the History Department reported about the activities of the History Department.

The new staff of the Students' Scientific Society included 24 people (2 representatives from each Department).

The conference was attended by Natalia Pobirchenko, the Rector of the University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, corresponding member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Olena Yaroshynska, the Vice-Rector, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Oleksandr Lavryk, the supervisor of the Student Scientific Society, Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Professor, Kateryna Ivashchenko, the Head of education technologies Department, Ph.D. in education, Deputy Directors of Institutes and Deans of research work Departments of the University.

The honorable guests expressed the hope that in the future the Students' Scientific Society would work more efficiently. Olena Yaroshinska in particular thanked the members of the Student Scientific Society who have already completed the cadence of their activities, and the newly elected ones she wished to keep the fire of scientific interest lit by the predecessors.
