On January 11, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of Ukraine Dmytro Tabachnyk held a meeting with teachers of the first grades of secondary schools, who had started their teaching activity after graduation in 2012/2013. Minister informed that, just 2012/2013 academic year had become determinant for primary education, because new state standard of primary education, new curriculum, new textbooks, and new model curriculums for primary school were implemented from September 1, 2012.

Dmytro Tabachnyk also added that 470 teachers, who have begun their teaching career on September 1, 2012, are a special audience as they have an opportunity to work in qualitatively new conditions, and according to new curricula.

The implementation of the new State standard of primary education and summarizing teachers' work for the first half-year; peculiarities of teachers' work with children in terms of new curricula and new textbooks' implementation; the use of information and communication technologies while working with elementary school pupils; benefits of foreign language compulsory learning from the first grade; carrying out physical warming-up during lessons and questions about the motivation of the first class pupils to study without evaluation were discussed during the meeting.
