Last week, Uman was visited by ten Olympic champions and prizemen in various sports who had carried out an Olympic lesson "Pump yourself in rhythm of Olympics!".
This event was the first in Uman and unforgettable experience for our students. Teams of all city schools gathered at the stadium "Illichivets". Sportsmen who wanted to share their experience with citizens were:
- Oleksandr Krykun – graduate student of Uman State Pedagogical University, bronze prizeman of the Olympic Games in track and field athletics;
- Anna Bezsonova - two-time bronze prize winner of the Olympic Games in rhythmic gymnastics;
- Yuriy Cheban - Olympic champion in canoeing;
- Yuriy Bilonog - Olympic champion in track and field athletics;
- Valeriy Goncharov - Olympic champion in sports gymnastics;
- Olena Sadovnycha - double Olympic prize winner in archery;
- Olena Paholchyk - double bronze prize winner of the Olympics in sailing;
- Olena Govorova - bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in track and field athletics;
- Irena Merleni - Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling;
- Svitlana Maziy - double silver medalist in the Olympics in rowing.
Students of Physical Education Department of Uman State Pedagogical University were volunteers at the holiday.
They received a considerable experience in judging the competition and had the opportunity to talk to the Olympic competitors. Our students were given presents from the National Olympic Committee as a keepsake.
The main pleasure for volunteers was certainly autographs and photos with their favorite sportsmen.
