Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the British Council in Ukraine initiated the project "New Generation School Teacher". As part of its project coordinators and team members met with the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Borys Zhebrovskyi and chief specialist of the Department of Secondary and Primary Education of MES Oksana Kovalenko. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the prospects of updating the content and organization of training teachers of foreign languages ??in higher educational institutions of Ukraine.

Our university was represented by members of the project team - coordinator of USPU international activities, professor of Foreign Languages Chair ??Oksana Zabolotna, vice-dean of Foreign Languages Department on humanitarian and socialization issues, assistant professor of English Language and Methods of Its Teaching Chair Alla Hembaruk and vice-dean of Foreign Languages Department on teaching practice, assistant professor of English Language and Methods of Its Teaching Chair Olena Bevz.

The working team discussed the current problems in foreign languages ??teaching at school and together with the British Council confirmed its readiness to continue working on the drafting of “New Generation School Teacher” project and expressed hope that such an interest in the Ministry would ensure the success of the project and give an opportunity to Ukrainian youth to know several foreign languages. During the conversation the results of pre-project study had been analyzed, the shortcomings in the system of English teachers training and possible ways to overcome them were outlined. It was noted that the Ministry plans to determine optimal ways of reforming the training and retraining of foreign languages teachers in ??Ukrainian school.

After the meeting in the Ministry the project team continued to work in Vyshgorod. Its members led by project coordinator Victoria Ivanischeva successfully employed to solve current problems and research perspectives for future cooperation. It was, in particular, defined the mechanisms of the project conducting, analyzed data of conducted a survey of students, teachers, lecturers, heads of educational institutions, and discussed the concluded analytical materials.
