On the basis of History Department systemically and successfully works from 2007 scientific laboratory “Uman Historical Ethnography”. It is headed by History Department dean, professor Tetiana Kuznets.

During its work scientific laboratory proved its efficiency and effectiveness by defence of thesis for candidate and doctor of historical sciences degree, by publications of monographs, collection of scientific works “Urgent problems on regional history” and a project “Uman verbal history”.

The laboratory actively collaborates with State historical and architectual preserve “Old Uman”, social and political history department of Political and Ethnographical Researches named after I. F. Kuras at NAS of Ukraine, Ukrainian Institute of Naional Memory.

Successful work of the scientific laboratory was highly estimated by Management Presidium of National Regional Ethnographers Union of Ukraine. For contribution into development of regional ethnography movement the laboratory group is rewarded by diploma.
