The information sector of Economics Department of USPU initiated a “journalist Econom Info” contest.

The contest was arranged in three stages during each of which the students performed the tasks of the corresponding complexity – they were looking for the Ukrainian equivalents of surzhyk (vernacular) words, text editing, and showing creativity, discussing the important moral, ethical and social issues.

The participants showed brilliant knowledge, provided comprehensible explanation of the facts and ideas, exhibited sharpness of mind and dynamic presentation. The contestants showed a great erudition, demonstrated creativity, especially flexibility of mind and speech culture. They say that "the secret of journalism is writing what the people talk".

According to the results of the contest the winners will actively participate in the “Econom Info” information sector. Those are creative literary duo Svitlana and Ludmyla Didenko (the first place), Olena Pohulyah (the second place), Alina Flora (the third place). Alina Hrebeniuk and Oleg Nemirovsky were also noted for creative achievements.

Tetiana Komar, the Dean of Economics Department, encouraged the students with Diplomas, cash incentives and gifts. She also wished the journalists new creative victories.
