On November 1-2, at the Research Centre of Pedagogical Regional History in Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University XII All-Ukrainian scientific conference "Ukrainian Pedagogy of the beginning of 20th century - current estimates and dimensions" – is a regular forum of Ukrainian researchers in the history of Pedagogics.

Co-organizers of the conference were the Department of General Pedagogics and Philosophy of Education, Laboratory of History of Pedagogics of Institute of Pedagogics of Ukrainian National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, All-Ukrainian Society of Pedagogics historians.

189 participants, representatives of 12 scientific and 113 universities in Ukraine - academics, professors, doctors and PhDs, postgraduate students from Kyiv, Lugansk, Rivne, Kherson, Berdyansk, Chernigiv, Slovyansk, Uzhgorod, Kirovograd, Kharkiv , Lviv, Zhytomyr, Glukhiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, Ternopil, Simferopil and other cities were interested in the conference topics.

The University rector of Uman State Pedagogical University, a member of Ukrainian National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, Doctor of Sciences (Pedagogics), Professor Nataliya S. Pobirchenko – well-known in Ukraine scientist in the field of historical and educational science spoke to the participants at the opening of the plenary meeting.

Interesting for the audience were the reports of leading Ukrainian scientists in the history of Pedagogics - a member of Ukrainian NAPS, academician-secretary of the General Pedagogics and Philosophy of Education of Ukrainian NAPS, Doctor of Sciences (Pedagogics), Professor Olga Sukhomlynska; head of the laboratory of Pedagogics History of the Institute of Pedagogics of Ukrainian NAPS, Doctor of Sciences (Pedagogics), senior researcher Nataliya Dichek; scientific secretary, chief researcher at the laboratory of the Institute of History of Pedagogics of Ukrainian NAPS, Doctor of Sciences (Pedagogics), Professor Larysa Berezivska; chief researcher at the laboratory of the Institute of History of Pedagogics of Ukrainian NAPS, Doctor of Sciences (Pedagogics), Professor Nestor Gupan et al.

The next day, on November 2, the conference program was provided for discussion of the historical and pedagogical actual issues. The moderator of the meeting was the Academician Olga Sukhomlynska - head of All-Ukrainian Society of Historians of Pedagogics, a leading scientist in the field of the Ukrainian Pedagogics. Several important scientific aspects in the History of Pedagogics were discussed during an interesting discussion such as: innovative development of Soviet pedagogy of the 1920s: trends and directions in the education and upbringing of children and youth; pedagogy of 20s as an organization of socialistic influences individual and collective; Ukrainian Pedagogics personalities of the1920s and educators of Diaspora; Ukrainian pedagogy of 20s and foreign science: interaction and interconnection.

Participants were presented publishing novelties: scientific publication "Lessons of Forgotten National Education Reformer Oleksandr Golovnin (1821-1886)" (authors: L. Gayevska, N. Pobirchenko), bibliography guide "Problems of Social Education In The Magazine" Dytyachyi Rukh"(1925 - 1934) "(complier N. Kolyada) and regular edition of "Historical and Pedagogical Almanac"- subscripted edition, which is in a list of professional editions in Ukraine, which also includes the conference materials.
