In the framework of celebrating Day of Europe, Polish Cultural and Educational Centre at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University organized Days of Poland. From the 16th until the 20th of May 2016 there has been a possibility to plunge into Polish culture and history, try Polish cuisine, get to know about educational projects. Schedule of Days of Poland was various and interesting.

The first day was dedicated to Polish and Ukrainian artists in Polish cinematograph. The participants watched a film by a stage-director Kzhyshtof Krauze “My Nikifor”.

The next day was held awarding of winners in the competition of presentations to Constitution Day in Poland. The first place took a student of Foreign Languages Department and the Collegium of interdisciplinary individual humanitarian studios Anastasia Ben. The second place won a student of History Department and the Collegium of interdisciplinary individual humanitarian studios Natalia Vershyhora, the third – a student of Ukrainian Philology Department Svitlana Volyk.

The second day was romantic and poetic. Students prepared an evening of poetry “Ukraine from the point of view of Polish poets”. They declaimed poems by polish poets, the fate of whom had been connected with Ukrainee.

The third day one could try delicious traditional dishes of Polish cuisine. Students treated the guests to the following dishes: bigos, makowiec, nalesniki z grzybami, etc.

There was held an intellectual game “What do you know about Poland?” in which participated II and III year students of Ukrainian Philology Department, specialization “Polish”. In the fierce fighting won II year stdents.

In the end of the event the winners in competition of paintings, dedicated to 1050 anniversary from Baptism of Poland, were awarded. A prize for the winner is participatio in Polish-Ukrainian exchange project of the youth mobility.

The forth day song’s admirers amused themselves from karaoke in Polish manner. In the event participated both students and lecturers of the university. In the end of the competition a student of Ukrainian Philology DepartmentViktoria Khomenko had overriped teacher of Polish Petr Pizel and after she won. Everyone sang Polish songs. Thus, the forth day came to the end.

The final stage of Day of Poland had become a presentation of Polish exchange programs. The event was visited by a representative of partner Jan Dlugosz Academy in Czestochowa doctor Norbert Morawitz, who currently passes his probation period at USPU in the framework of exchange program Eminence.

During presentation everybody present had a possibility o get acquainted with conditions of participation in academic mobility exchange program, summer schools in Poland, etc. III year student of Collegium MIGus Olena Chopenko told about her experience of participation in a program of academic mobility she had been studying under together with the other three students in Lieszno.

Their impressions on summer schools in Nikolai Kopernik University and Bilostotskiy State University shared students of Ukrainian Philology Department, specialization “Polish” Kateryna Bershatska and Svitlana Volyk; Anna Koroy told about her participation in Polish-Ukrainian exchange program, which took place in Gniezno, Poland.

As a conclusion, the participants agreed that mastering foreign languages is necessary nowadays as it permits to participate in such projects and programs, broaden outlook and become a part of European Youth Community.
