Oleksandr I. Bezliudnyi – Rector of the Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, doctor of Sciences (Pedagogy), professor.

He has the honorary title of "Honored Education Worker of Ukraine" (2009).

He was awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise 5^th Class for significant personal contribution to state building, socio-economic, cultural and educational development of Ukraine, significant labor achievements and high professionalism (Decree of the President of Ukraine, May 4, 2019 № 188).

Member of the Association of Rectors of Pedagogical Universities in Europe.

He was born on December 9, 1955 in Uman, Cherkasy region. In 1976 he graduated from the Cherkasy State University with a degree in English and qualified as a English teacher.

He has been working at the university for more than 40 years, starting his career as a laboratory assistant. In 1978–1983 he worked as an assistant at the Department of Foreign Languages and part-time as a foreign language teacher at a rural school in the Uman district; in 1983–1985 - trainee researcher at the Research Institute of Pedagogy of the USSR; from 1985 to 1988 - assistant of the department of foreign languages. In 1988 he defended his dissertation for the degree of candidate of pedagogical sciences, in 1992 he was awarded the academic title of associate professor. From 1991 to 1996 - Vice-Rector for Distance Learning, from 1996 to 2015 - First Vice-Rector. In 2013 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, in 2014 he was awarded the academic title of professor. In 2015, he was elected Rector of the Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, and on November 25, 2020, he was appointed Rector of the University for the term of five years by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Ivanovych is a highly qualified specialist, he is the author of more than 200 publications of scientific and educational nature, including 5 publications in scientific publications that are included in the scientometric databases Scopus, Web of Science. Research interests - problems of teaching foreign languages in high school and comparative studies. He completed language internships in the United States and Great Britain, participated in many international conferences abroad.

Oleksandr I. Bezliudnyi is a Chairman of the Specialized Academic Council of the Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University D 74.053.01, Editor-in-Chief of the professional collection of scientific works of the University "Problems of modern teacher training".

Oleksandr Bezliudnyi takes an active part in the public life of the university, city and region, enjoys well-deserved respect and authority in the team of colleagues and students of the university.

He was awarded Diplomas and badges "Excellence in Education of Ukraine" (1994) and "Ushinsky K.D." (2007) by Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
