"Children researches: introduction of a new technique" workshop for the second year students was organized by Olga Maystruk, the teacher of the Chair of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology of Early Childhood Education and Correctional Education Department at USPU. The purpose of the event was to broaden the teaching experience, introduce the innovative methods of Alexander Savenkov, the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Doctor of Psychology, Professor of Psychology of Moscow State Pedagogical University, expand theoretical knowledge and practical skills of teachers by this method. The workshop also addressed the issues related to familiarization of preschoolers with the specific educational researches, improvement of the ability to ask questions, propose hypotheses and to define the concepts, activation of creativity of teachers through exchange of ideas and mutual experience.

The technique makes it possible to engage a child into independent research on any subject in preschools classes. It was designed not only to teach children to observe and experiment; it included a full cycle of research of the problem from the presentation to protection of the obtained results.

During the seminar, using the proposed exercises ("Methodological designer", "Look at the world through the eyes of other people", "Complex words" etc.), the students not only had the opportunity to learn how to organize the educational process on the basis of competency and activity according to current requirements, but also enrich their knowledge on this issue, satisfy their curiosity and resourcefulness like preschool children and creative teachers would. We wish all the participants success in their further studies of the problems of preschool pedagogy.
