The autumn day prepared us a real holiday – our university celebrated its 85th anniversary. At the event there were present: the university collective and the guests.

The celebrations began with choreography composition “Salutary” performed by ensemble of national dance “Yavoryna” (art director – Sergiy Kutsenko).

After a solemn performance of Hymn of Ukraine, the welcoming speech made rector of the university, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, Honoured Education Worker of Ukraine Oleksandr Besludniy. He was talking on foundation of the university and its history. In the end of his welcoming speech the rector expressed his gratitude to lecturers, scientists, students, PhD students, workers for their large part of work and great contribution. The rector wished the university community to continue to increase the HEI achievements for Ukraine’s good and fame!

Oleksandr Ivanovych delivered honourary diplomas from Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to Anatoliy Karasevych, Zinaida Sviaschenko, Lyubov Shachkovska, Lyudmyla Lysenko, Vladylena Sokyrska, signed by Director of the Institute of Education Content Modernisation Nataliya Viatkina and President of National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl Kremen for their participation in writing 29 books of Political Portrait Anthology, dedicated to 85th anniversary of USPU.

To the congratulations joined guests of the university: mayor of the city Oleksandr Tsebriy, head of Uman regional state administration Vitaliy Oliynyck, head of Supervisory Council, public deputy of Ukraine Vasyl Kostytskyi, acting head of education department at Uman city council Oksana Melnyck and acting head of education department Tetyana Tarantsova.

Our university congratulated vise Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Culture Viacheslav Kyrylenko, head of Supreme Council Committee of Ukraine in education and science matters Liliya Grynevych (texts of the telegrams you can read at: #1, #2), different Ukrainian an foreign educational establishments.

Rector and head of trade union committee rewarded the university veterans for their dutiful work: candidate of philosophical sciences, assistant professor, head of veteran organization Mykola Zaporozhets; veterans of work Volodymyr Shuldyck and Grygoriy Kazydub.

Rector and head of trade union committee presented head of Culture and Leisure Activities “Gaudeamus” Lyudmyla Gekalyuk certificate for new computer.

On the occasion of jubilee President of Association of Ukraine, head of Supervisory Council, public deputy of Ukraine Vasyl Kostytskyi rewarded the workers of the university by a diploma for great contribution into national education development. The medal, found by Association of workers of Ukraine, Vasyl Vasyliovych delivered to rector of the university, professor Oleksandr Besludniy.

A nice present during official part of solemnities was prepared by education department of Uman city council: performance of small artists.

An order for the university on the occasion of jubilee was announced by first pro-rector, professor Andriy Gedzyck (the full text you can find under the following link).

The celebrations were proceeded by a big concert, in the program of which were included performances of the best bands, groups, musicians and performers of our university: ensemble of contemporary dance “Vizavi” (art director – Lyudmyla Androschuk) and ensemble of national dance “Yavoryna” (art director – Sergiy Kutsenko), academic choir “Yunist (Youth)” (art director – Lyudmyla Yatlo), ensemble “Sofia” (art director – Vasyl Semenchuk), vocal trio “Gonta” and the others.

A nice present from foreign students of our university was Turkmen national dance “Gunesh” and performance of bayan ensemble “Serbianstar”, consisting of Yovann Drmanych, Darko Markovych, Oleksandr Georgevych (art director - Olena Ustymenko-Kosorich).

The fetive evening was conducted by lecturer of Primary Education Department Oleksandr Scherbak and head of Culture and Leisure Activities Centre “Gaudeamus” Lyudmyla Gekalyuk.
