On the basis of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Cherkasy National University took place Cherkasy Regional championship in boxing among adults and youth in March. In the competition participated more than 100 sportsmen from 12 teams.

Our city was represented by 22 boxers, among them 6 students of Pavlo Tychyna USPU.

Uman boxers’ performances were successful: 20 sportsmen became prize winners, 4 boxers came bach home with victories.

Our university students took:

• I place – Vladyslav Rudyk in weghting category 52 kg;
• II place – Andriy Smirnov in weighting category 64 kg;
• III place – Yaroslav Petrychenko in weighting category 69 kg, Sergiy Polischuk in weighting category 81 kg, Vadym Kovalskyi in weighting category more than 91 kg.

The best champioship’s sportsmen were included into Cherkasy region combined team. In the end of March they’ll participate in Cup Tournament of Ukraine in boxing.
