In Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University was held officer’s rank junior lieutenant in reserve students awarding. The students were studying according to officers in reserve training programme. In the meeting participated members of the university administration, directors of the institutes, department deans, teachers, students and their friends. The opening ceremony began with the national anthem performance, minute of silence dedicated to perished in ATO zone.

During 2 years 73 students of USPU were studying according to junior lieutenant in reserve programme training at military department of Sumy State University and Odesa Military Academy in specialities: mechanical formation military usage, aeromobile and artillery subdivisions. Finally, they received from the Minister of Defence of Ukraine order on rank junior lieutenant in reserve USPU students awarding. The order was announced by military mobilization subdivision instructor, lieutenant-colonel in reserve Igor Gorbonos. Shoulder straps of junior lieutenant rank were delivered to students by supervisor of Uman garrison in educational work, lieutenant-colonel Volodymyr Pechenyuk.

It was the first USPU students graduating who had become military chair students, hence, this will be marked in the University history, accentuated Doctor in Pedagogical Sciences, professor Tetyana Kochubei during her congratulation speech. She also announced on behalf of the University rector, Professor Nataliya Pobirchenko:

I’m sure that each of you will carry out your military duty in name of peace and goodness preservation in Ukraine. By choosing profession connected with Motherland defence, you’ve begun to follow uneasy but full of respect path. And now, when you’ve been awarded by your first shoulder straps, you should realize that our state confides in you life and Ukrainian citizens safety. Taking an oath means for each soldier more than words, it is worth of lives. “Honour, responsibility and professionalism must be your credo. It is you who should follow parents and grandparents traditions, and assure peace to the Ukrainians. Therefore, I’d like to wish you health and strength, be faithful to Ukraine. You should believe in tomorrow, goodness, peace, remain optimistic. I want to wish all of you happiness and family support.

Dean of Economics Department, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, associate professor Tetiana Ponedilchuk congratulated students from all her heart.

2nd Platoon of the 2nd company commander, junior lieutenant in reserve Iryna Danchyshyna, stressed:

We’ve reached our aim! We have an important mission behind us – to preserve peace, defend our Motherland and our nation. The nation will reciprocate us with love. Our strength and courage will help us to overcome all the obstacles.

Iryna delivered to museum military helmet as a symbol of pritection. Ukraine is unique!

Musical congratulations were prepared for junior lieutenants in reserve (stage director of the University – Nataliya Alekseeva). The real pleasure was to observe dancing. Choreographical piece “Seasons of the year” under the guidance of Choreography and Work of Arts Chair director Lyudmyla Androschuk was carried out by national ensemble of modern dancing “Vizavi”. “Gopack” was performed by national ensemble “Yavoryna” (director - Choreography and Work of Arts Chair teacher Sergiy Kutsenko). Special attention drew songs performed by student of Arts and Pedagogics Department Anastasia Tatarchuk, Honoured workers in Culture Vasyl Semenchuk and Petro Voloshyn. Patriotic words of the song “Army is a fate and family of the defender” with a storm of applause.

Ukraine and the Ukrainians are in need of defenders, Strong and courageous, self-confident and fearless. We should help them with our love and support!
