In the midst of everyday life it is important to remember that there are those who are particularly in need of assistance and charity. Especially when it comes to kids deprived of the ordinary childhood joys and family warmth. The indifferent people fill the lives of children deprived of parental care with pleasant events; give them their warmth, care and sincere communication.

The mission of the activists of Elementary Education Department of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University was to visit the inmates of an orphanage located on the Malofontanna Street. To prepare for the meeting the students organized the fundraising for gifts and prizes for children (children's books and encyclopedias, coloring books, drawing books, ink, pencils, clay, and other useful things) as well as staging the "Turnip" Ukrainian folk tale. Children were easily carried away with the game and tried to participate in it. But this was only the beginning. The tale was followed by interesting competitions where all participants danced, sang, recited poems, drew pictures, talked about their life. The students wanted to press the small orphanage residents to their bosoms to give them the warmth and strengthen their confidence in themselves.

Volunteers understand that is not too difficult to become magicians for these children and give them hope for the future. Department of Elementary Education decided to take patronage over the orphans and encourages everyone to join the initiative. Every person can do something warm and endearing for the disadvantaged children!
