Uman is the city of youth and sports. It has brought up many athletes in various kinds of sports, including boxing, champions of our Oblast, Ukraine, Europe and the world. The peak of boxing success in Uman has been achieved in the recent years. Over 100 children and adolescents of all ages are involved in this kind of sports. Fruitful work of coaches and perseverance of young athletes has given positive results. Every year, Uman has new champions and winners of Ukraine, three athletes were awarded the honorary title of Master of Sports of Ukraine.

Therefore, Uman was selected for the Championship of Ukraine in Junior Boxing. Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University was chosen as the place of this prestigious competition on purpose because our educational establishment has years of experience in hosting honorable guests and there are many famous athletes including boxers among our students.

260 athletes and 40 coaches and judges from all regions of Ukraine took part in the Junior Boxing Championship of Ukraine. Participants and honorable guests were welcomed by Natalia Pobirchenko, the Rector of USPU who sincerely wished everyone success and future victories. Tournament organizers awarded Natalia Semenivna "for the promotion of boxing in Uman and assistance with Ukraine Boxing Championship."

The performances of "Yavoryna" national amateur folk dance ensemble (directed by Sergiy Kutsenko) and young acrobats of Uman junior sports school provided a good entertainment for everyone.
