At History Department of the university was held a meeting of lecturers and students with a doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, rector of Zhytomyr Regional Institute of Continuing Education Igor Smahin.

A famous Ukrainian scientist delivered a lecture for lecturers and seniour students and master students, paying attention to urgent problems of history and social science studies organization, transformations challenges and perspectives of social education. The researcher introduced his vision on theory and practice of school manuals producing, didactic and methodological criteria of manuals in history quality; he drew student’s attention to critical analysis of effectiveness evaluation of school manuals.

The scientist payed attention to necessity of informational, methodological content of future teachers in history professional training, as they need to correspond to their professional level, be able to use modern technologies, methods of competent oriented approach to organization of teaching process, have skills, original ideas, apply unusual forms and methods of educational process organization.

In the scientific and methodological seminar by lecturers of Ukrainian Culture Chair and Humanities Methodology and teachers of history were considered urgent problems of theory and practice of studying history and social sciences in general educational school and higher school. As a result of the meeting History Department concluded an agreement of collaboration with Pedagogy and Andragogy Chair, Educational Subjects Teaching Methods Chair of Zhytomyr Regional Institute of Continuing Education.
