Let’s unite, dear family, so that our Ukraine doesn’t know misfortune…
Oleksandr Lazarev

Our university students and lecturers participated in the action of All-Ukrainian unity on the occasion of Reunion Day of Ukraine and 96th anniversary of Ukrainian National Republic and Western Ukrainian National Republic Reunion Act proclamation.

The city event took place in the central square of the city in which participated representatives of state companies, enterprises, organizations, educational establishments, pupils, students and active members of community.

Congratulating people on the state holiday, deputy mayor of the city Lyudmyla Kyrylyuk mentioned that 22 of January is not only Reunion Day of Ukraine, but it is also the day when mass fusillade had begun in Maidan. By a minute of silence people commemorated those who died for Ukraine.

During patriotic poems performing scores of event members unfurled a State Banner of Ukraine.

The event ended with an action “Unity Chain”, which was actively supported by everybody present. Holding each others hand, the participators have made a big “live chain”, which has demonstrated that we are unitary and united nation, who wants to live in independent and prosperous country. Only united and enthusiastic we can convince our enemies – internal and external – of being worth of our independence and our readiness to protect it.

Among the other thematic actions to Reunion Day of Ukraine at our university worth mentioning are expositions of books, thematic exhibitions in libraries and reading rooms, information and educative exposition in museum, dedicated to the history of national struggle in Ukraine in the beginning of the XX c. and 96th anniversary of Reunion Act of UNR and WUNR.
