2015 season of open doors days at our university is started! On the 23rd of January such event was organized for future university entrants and their parents. At about 800 university entrants – school, colleges, lyceums and vocational schools leavers – visited the university.
The event had begun with departments and institutes presentation. In foyer of the university buildings guests had an opportunity to look through information thematic stands, exhibitions of students and lecturers works, they also received advertising booklets, brochures and the other kinds of career guidance printed materials. Departments’ and institutes’ representatives answered the questions of future university entrants, gave them detailed information on directions and specialties of training. Among the advantages of our university entering is a large portion of state order, high quality of received knowledge, substantial theoretic and practical preparation, and powerful material resources. University entrants have a possibility to use services of psychological diagnostofication and training technologies centres, take preparatory and introductory courses.
Future entrants got to know the peculiarities of 2015 entrance campaign (Angoff method, weight coefficients, priorities), registration to External Independent Assessment (EIA), had individual carreer guidance consultations. There were also excursions, trainings, master classes, researches in the program of Open Doors Day.
The most objective charasteristic of our university was given by students. Student Councils representatives told about the activities of student self-government bodies. At our university there are student organizations (Student Council, Student Trade Union, Student Scientific Society), which help students to develop and make their life interesting and bright. Our university offers Student Social and Psychological Services (at SPED), sports sections, teams of quick-witted, creative groups. Social and cultural structure of the university consists of students’ club, where all-university groups work; most of them have a long history, 9 of them have an honourable title “national”.
The university entrants were interested in the information on the universities collaboration with foreighn establishments, the possibilities to study abroad by international exchange programs; international cooperation in education testifies to the fact that university administration pursues both useful, qualitative and interesting studying. The university guests considered foreign languages studies as a big advantage in the process of future specialists training (both in the framework of educational program and optionally), knowledge of foreign languages gives more chances for finding a job and getting additional knowledge and skills in international exchanges.
In the end the entrants and their parents had a possibility to get acquainted with deans of the university departments, talk to leading scientists and university lecturers, to observe university’s life, visit scientific and practical centres. Each of the departments organized event for future students. Chairs representatives invited university entrants and their parents to their specialties presentation, where they told about each direction of training.
