In 2015 university entrants submit their certificates of 2015 EIA at Higher Educational Establishment (HEI) (registration period January 5th – February 20th, 2015 at the website of Ukrainian regional quality assessment: Regional centre – testportal.gov.ua).

1. Who should pass EIA and who should pass entrance exams?

According to the new rules of admission to HEI in 2015, EIA should pass school leavers who have completed secondary education and enter university for bachalor degree. The entrance exams should pass those who have junior specialist diploma and enter university for bachalor degree in similar training direction.

2. How many subjects should school leavers take at EIA?

Each EIA participator has a right to take not more than 4 subjects from the following list:

  • Ukrainian Language and Literature
  • History of Ukraine
  • Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Geography
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • English
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Russian
  • French

3. About levels of complicacy:

During registration to EIA in Ukrainian Language and Literature and Mathematics university entrant should indicate the level of complicacy: basic or higher. The information about university requirements as for the level of complicacy is available from the 1st of January. General level is obligatory for all the university entrants. Those who have chosen higher level, at first should pass basic level, and after they have additional time for higher level.

4. How many scores can the school leaver get?

Score scale of basic and higher levels is from 100 to 200 points. For basic level so-called threshold “passed/failed” will be difined (Angoff method). Certificates will be given for those who passed.

According to the admission rules, weighting coefficients should be defined as follows:

  • for EIA certificates – not more than 20 % (min 0.2);
  • for avarage attestat point – not more than 10 % (min 0.1);
  • for the participation in creative or physical competition – not more than 25 % (max 0.25);
  • for the victory in IV stage All-Ukrainian pupil olympiad in basic subjects or victory in III stage All-Ukrainian competition in research works defence of Small Academy of Science of Ukraine members – not more than 5 % (max 0.05);
  • for successful passing of university preparatory courses in natural and mathematics specialties – not more than 5 % (max 0.05).

6. Applications priority

In 2015 academic year, the university entrant can apply for 5 higher educational establishments and not more than in 3 specialties. It means, that in general, an applicant can submit 15 applications, where he should indicate their priority. An application with priority №1 is a specialty of student’s most desirable studies. Priority, indicated by university entrant cannot be changed during the admission campaign.

7. Enrollment due to applications priority

If an entrant is recommended for enrollment due to the application with priority №1, (s)he loses a right for the following priorities competition. If an entrant is recommended for enrollment according to his/her priority №2, (s)he loses a right for the following priorities competition, but he has still the right in competition of the preceding priority. It means, at first, all the applications of the highest priority are enrolled, all the next are cancelled. Everybody will be enrolled at the same time. Entrants, who have cancelled recommedation to enrollment in budgetary places, do not lose a right of competition for places for fees.

8. Who can enter without competition?

According to the admission rules, without competition can enter:

  • Veterans of the war, labour heroes, rewarded by Heavenly Hundred Heroes Order;
  • 1st and 2nd group disabled children younger than 18 years old;
  • people, who suffered from Chornobyl disaster;
  • people, whose parents are miner workers with service of 15 years or children whose parents died because of an accident or they’ve become 1st and 2nd group disabled (this right duration is 3 years after the general secondary education completion);
  • national teams of Ukraine members, who participated in International competitions;
  • Olympic and Paralympic games champion and prize winners – in Physical Education, Culture and Sports specialties.

9. Before registration we advise university entrants:

  • Phone to selection committee of HEI and ask about enrolment campaign in 2015, or look through the information at HEI’s website.
  • Visit your HEI during Open Doors Day.
  • Pass pre-university courses at university.
  • Pass diagnostic test for future profession defining.
  • Make a good choice of university and speciality priorities.
