On November 21-22, the First All-Ukrainian student history tournament took place at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. It is a team competition, enabling each participant to show a high level of knowledge, to assess his ability to work in a team, to present his own researches. 13 teams consisted of students from different universities, representing nearly all regions of Ukraine. Historic rounds were held in a tense but friendly atmosphere, and the jury noticed a high level of participants' knowledge, and tolerance of the opponents.

History Department's team of Uman State Pedagogical University consisted of the graduate students Iryna Kulyk, Yuliya Yartsun and Vitaliy Grubyi showed the high level of future teachers' history training. The team was supported by the university administration and the State Historical and Architectural Preserve "Stara Uman".

According to the results of intellectual games Uman students won the third place and were awarded a team and individual letters of commendation in the tournament.
