With the support of the university administration and the trade union the educational department organized a two-day educational trip to Lviv for the teachers and students.

The bus tour ran through the city of Pochaiv where the tourists visited the largest Orthodox shrine of Volyn - the Pochaiv Lavra (the second largest one in Ukraine after the Kiev Pechersk Lavra). The Pochaiv monastery is one of the most respected shrines, and it was interesting to wander along with other pilgrims around the sanctuary, to see the places once visited by of Our Lady with the source of healing water, and the miraculous icon. In general, the land in Western Ukraine abounds with the sacred monuments of defensive architecture.

The tourists felt unusual mystique atmosphere the city of Lviv, the true pearl of Galychyna, its historical, political and cultural center. They were excited to see the Maria Zankovetska National Academic Ukrainian Drama Theatre where they watched the operetta by famous authors ("Silva" by Imre Kalman and "Gutsulka Ksenia" by Dmytro Nykolyshyn and Yaroslav Barnych.

During the last visit to Lviv the University delegation watched the bitter comedy "The last harvest of buckwheat" by Orest Ogorodnyk. Janusz Yuhnytskyy, the People's Artist of Ukraine was starring. His acting was brilliant. Sitting in the hall the audience was almost living with the actors the magnificent acting of which was breathtaking, caused tears of empathy.

Interestingly, after watching the masterpiece there was an exciting meeting of Borys Mirus, the people's artist of Ukraine and the delegation of USPU, Natalia Alexeeva, the Director of student Drama and Comedy and her granddaughter, Vira Prytuliak, a student of the Primary Education Department of the University.

Next our delegation made a tour around the old city the historic center of which is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Lion City stands out on the background of other cities thanks to its unique national flavor, many incredible monuments of the fourteenth and twentieth centuries. Sculptures, castles, churches and other historic buildings contribute to its grandeur and mystery.

As the natives of the Shevchenko region our tourists enjoyed an opportunity to learn the details of the biography of Shevchenko, including his stay in Pochaiv where the poet used to work and rest. In Lviv the group visited the museum of the poet. As we know from the history, Taras had never been to the capital of Galychyna. Therefore to capture the memory of the great genius of the Ukrainian people in Lviv, the authorities were directing the artists to all parts of Ukraine to paint the portraits of the great Poet. These paintings are exhibited in the museum now.

The lecturers from different departments - Tetiana Bondarchuk, Alla Dobryden, Kateryna Zamulyanets, Tetiana Hritchenko and videographer Oksana Dougan were traveling with the students.
