On September 6-9, the traditional ecological expedition of university scientists within the state budget theme "Research of potential of landscape ecosystems of Central Bug for Ukrainian ecological network formation and the involvement of youth into environmental work" was held. The tasks of the expedition were to examine the protected areas of studied region on detection violations of environmental legislation and analyze its state; collect the information on the distribution of species of flora and fauna that are under protection; identify perspective areas for conservation; clarify the range of key issues of forest ecosystems and water habitats in the region.

In general the expedition overcame 210 km. The main achievement of the expedition was the investigation of the major habitat types of Central Bug (foreland of the Southern Bug river, open and forested areas), as well as examples of human impact on nature (digging, burning, littering, cutting, scouring of coasts).

Another important direction of the expedition was an environmental protection work: cleaning up trash in the forests (5 laystalls) and strengthening the coastline (50 m).

Most of the time was spent on the survey, collecting photos and videos.

The further programme is to make a complex of laboratory tests to obtain quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the river water and its chemical composition.
