Our university, like the whole world, celebrates Charity Day. Charity is a frank and noble deed, which is directed towards life conditions improving. A benefactor can be everybody: it is easy. USPU lecturers, students participated in charity actions so that to save and improve life conditions of concrete people.
USPU students and lecturers on support of its administration both join charity actions and organize them.
A great contribution in charity makes a head of university trade union committee Oleksandr Osadchyi. He distributes costs to various organizations, such as Red Cross Community, administration of work and population’s social protection, veterans of Great World War, soldiers-internationalists, participators in consequences liquidation of Chornobyl disaster.
USPU representatives try their best to be prominent. Thus, candidate of pedagogical sciences, assistant professor, dean of Social and Psychological Education Department Oksana Kravchenko, candidates of pedagogical sciences Maya Perfilieva and Oksana Shevchuk won in XVI All-Ukrainian competition of business plans in nomination “Social Project” for their project “Centre of Social and educational integration of invalid people”.
Charity – is one of the main directions of Student’s Council work.
Student council of the university organized “Favorite book’s fair. This event was organized to support family of 3-rd year student of Foreign Languages Department Anastasia Ryzhak, whose brother died in ATO zone, her father continues to defeat Ukraine’s dignity, and her mother is a volunteer.
On the initiative of Student Council and administration’s support charity culinary fair also took its place. Each department tried their best to lay the table and offer customers original dishes. Gathered for sold production costs the youth handed in to soldiers who protect our peace and calmness on the south of Ukraine.
University administration supports and stimulates students’ and lecturers’ initiatives. A circle of disinterested care is widening, and it is unfortunately connected with the last events in the country. The university’s staff actively participates in charity actions to support Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Lecturers and students of Ukrainian Philology Department have visited wounded soldiers in ATO, who are currently at the Main military hospital (Kyiv). Students and lecturers gathered at about 6 thousand hryvnias for protectors’ curement.
Students of Department of Economics (USPU) realized an interesting idea to congratulate on spring’s coming – they organized a charity fair “Spring bell”.
In the framework of a social project “Give warmth to a soldier” at Physical Training Department were held competitions in STREET WORKOUT, in which participated boys and girls. Owing to these competitions students gathered money for a student of Physical Training Department, who is currently protects our land in ATO zone.
“Arts for the sake of peace!” was a charity action of Arts and Pedagogics Department, which continued relay race of charity at the university. Together with a Student Council of the University, was prepared dance marathon “We are Ukrainians!”
A lot of good deeds were done by Student Social and Psychological Service at Social and Psychological Education Department. Volunteers of Social and Psychological Service should organize annually charity actions for sick children; gather clothes, toys and books for children’s home and children-orphans; organize various events to gather costs for families of dependant children;help veterans and old people.
National and patriotic camp of our university “Action” had won at III All-Ukrainian distance competition of students’ and pupils’ scientific works in Social Pedagogy in nomination “Social Project”. The author of the work “National and Patriotic Camp for Student Youth of Uman “Action” is a student Tetyana Muzyka, who took I place in the nomination “Social Projects”.
During 2014-2015 academic year USPU have been realized a lot of interesting projects, and organized a lot of helpful actions of Student Self-Government together with Youth Community Organizations of the district. The majority of events had national and patriotic direction. Among important events were meetings with ATO soldiers both inside the university and outside (with wounded at the hospitals).
Rector of the university, professor Oleksandr Besludniy received gratitudes from regional volunteer organization “Together”. Director of Uman volunteer centre of help for army expressed his gratitude to students of History Department Stanislav Blazhchuk and Myroslava Stetsenko for their active community position, love to Ukraine and support of ATO soldiers. Students-volunteers thank volunteer centre for their attention and continue to support our soldiers. In particular, university organized funds collections for cure of 21 year’s old wounded soldier Oleksandr Popruzhenko, who is currently at Odessa military hospital and needs expensive operation. Collected costs will be transferred to the account of Oleksandr’s mother. She is very grateful for help from students and lecturers from our university.
