On the 28th of October we celebrate 71st Anniversary of Liberation of Ukraine from Fascist Invaders.

Congratulating on the holiday, first of all, we’d like to bow for our country’s defenders for what we have now – blue sky, and peaceful work.

Time flies, generations change, but we’ll always remember those events when thousands of peaceful inhabitants were perished, villages ruined.

The veteran’s courage, bravery and heroism is a sample for future generations. They are models of feat of arms, courage and love in name of life on the earth. We wish them good health, many years of life, love and care.

On the 28th of October is celebrated Liberation Day of Ukraine from Fascist Invaders, which was defined in 2009 by President of Ukraine with the aim of All-Ukrainian to honour heroism of Ukrainians in World War II.

It was difficult time, difficult way to peace and last sounds of war.

In the course of Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 on the territory of Ukraine took place key battles for liberation of Europe from fascism. The war actions took place during 40 months – from June 22, 1941 until the end of October 1944. According to historians during war time were killed at about 3 mln of Soviet soldiers, at about 2 mln were forced to move to Germany to work. According to contemporary calculation, during Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 in Ukraine died 9 mln of people. More than 700 cities and 28 000 villages were ruined, 10 mln of people lost their homes. At about 16 000 enterprises were destroyed, economy of Ukraine had loss of 40 %.

The last stage of liberation of Ukraine was in October 1944 – Carpathian-Uzhhorod operation. On the 27th of October was liberated Uzhhorod, on the 28th – the rest of villages of Transcarpathian region.

Ukrainian soldiers made a great contribution into victory over nazy Germany and its allies. At about 2.5 mln Soviet soldiers were rewarded. Ukrainian marshals and generals headed more than a half of 15 fronts in the period of fighting with German fascist invaders.
