To the 29th anniversary of Chornobyl disaster at NPP were organized several events, intiated by scientific and research laboratory “Ecology and Education” of Nature and Geography Department, in particular professor Svitlana Sovhira, assistant professor Hanna Goncharenko and Nataliia Gnatyuk: scientific seminar-conference “Chornobyl… commemoration for the sake of future” and poster’s exhibition by second – forth-year students of Nature and Geography Department devoted to the disaster’s topic.

In the event participated lecturers and students of the department, forth-year students of History Department, members of problem group “Allopathic interaction of living systems” (director – assistant professor Nataliia Gnatyuk).

The attention was paid to tragic events, which took place on the 26th-29th of April 29 years ago at Chornobyl nuclear power plant. We should remember Chornobyl and make the conclusions on the terrible tragedy, in order to be in safety and not let misfortune in our lives.

The seminar touched upon different problems of the disaster and its consequences, there were made the following speeches: “Chornobyl – is society’s pain”, “Long shadow of Chornobyl”, “Chornobyl – remembrance of the catastrophe”, “Chornobyl’s Echo, genetic consequences of NPP”, etc. Chornobal disaster impacted the whole world, its tragic consequences will feel a lot of our generations. The tragedy comes into history as incurable wound of Ukraine. We pay to much for Chornobyl and we will pay much after. The humanity made a step from pre-atom epoch to unknown epoch. Chornobyl brought grief and suffering. Lands and rivers, villages lost their lives. Sorrow is reigns in the dead city of Prypiat…

Chornobyl tragedy took lives of our compatriots; instead it left behind pain and emptiness. Recollections about people who died protecting us from radiation menace are sacred. In the end of the event members of the seminar and conference commemorated victims by a minute of silence.
