On the 28th of March on the initiative of scientific and research laboratory “Ecology and Education” workers, in particular, assistant professor Ganna Goncharenko and professor Svitlana Sovgira, Natural Sciences and Geography Department student self-government was held an annual international action “The Earth’s Time”, which was started by the World Fund of Wild Nature.

In the action actively participated the university lecturers and students of Natural Sciences and Geography Department, teachers, parents and pupils of Uman school №3, which took place at the new building of the university. In such a way – switching off the light for one hour and conducting a small concert in front of lighted up candles – the organizers and participators of the natural protection event tried to pay attention to the necessity of energy resources economy and problems of climate global change in the Earth.

The organizers of the ecology action accentuated the importance of people’s joint actions for the future of our planet. The Earth’s Time is more than just to switch off the light for one hour once a year. The Earth’s Time is about everyday simple actions, which should be done by everybody for the sake of ecology situation improvement: to switch of the light and water, when it is possible, economize electicity and heat, to work up paper, use bicycle as means of transport, save environment, etc. Let’s think over future today!
