Reciting the poems by Shevchenko is a series of events aimed at commemorating the Great Poet. Everyone was able to feel Shevchenko's works with the heart, to feel their spirit, thus fulfilling the poet’s will. Whether there is a place for Shevchenko in the temple of our souls depends on who we are and who we will be. But the entire world has known about "Ukraine" that goes along with the name of Taras Shevchenko for about 200 years.

Employees of the Scientific Library of the University held a competition for the best recitation of poetry by this poet, presented content and virtual exhibitions, conducted a bibliographic review of the literature. The students of the Institute of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Technologies enthusiastically recited the works of the great poet that became a valuable spiritual heritage and maintained their relevance till the modern times. The following students were active participants in the event: Artem Marchuk, Alina Kyriyenko, Nastya Parashchuk, Vasyl Krasnoshtan, Viktoriya Sultanova, Anastasya Pavlyscheh from the Nature and Geography Department, Anna Mazurok, Nastya Kurych, Yulia Lukashenko from the Physics and Mathematics Department, Natalia Lopchynska and Olesya Koretska from Technology and Pedagogics Department. Sofia Rud, the 2d grade pupil of school № 9 was the youngest person reciting the poems. The highlight of the program was Ukrainian songs performed by the "Nadvechirya" ensemble (works at the club of social activities for the elderly created by the Office of Labor and Social Protection of the Uman City Council). The library staff and all the participants sincerely appreciate their participation in the event.
