"Stara Uman" State Historical and Architectural Reserve opened a presentation of creative works by students and teachers of the Department of Fine Arts at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University in the exhibition hall. This year's exhibition season is the fourth one. The creative works of the Uman artists complement the works of artists of Kaniv College of Culture and Arts, the structural unit of USPU.


The exhibition presented the art works of various types and genres of folk art - paintings, drawings, decorative arts. The advantage of the exhibition was a democracy – the beginners exhibited their works next to the ones of the venerable masters.





The exhibition was opened by Dmytro Baldynyuk, the Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor. The opening ceremony of the festival was visited by Oleksandr Kobernyk - Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Technology, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Olena Polishchuk, the Assistant Professor of the Chair of Theory and Methods of Preschool Education, Candidate of Science, a member of the National Union of People's artists of Ukraine, Gennadiy Kleschar, the senior teacher of the Chair of Fine Arts and Pedagogy, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Ivan Serdiuk, the member of the National Association of craftsmen of Ukraine, an outstanding student of public education of Ukraine, a former senior teacher of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, Viktor Tykhomyr, a representative of Kaniv College of Culture and Arts, Liubov Linenko, the member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Associate Professor, Liubov Sokur, the Deputy Director for Science and other famous artists of Uman and art fans.


The participants of this event were welcomed by Oleksandr Melnychuk, the Director of "Stara Uman", Viktor Lisachenko, the chief architect of the city, a former pupil of Korniy Genrikhovich Mikindo, the eminent artist, founder of Uman art studio in the municipal House of Culture.

  At the same time, the winners of the art contest announced by the Department of Fine Arts at USPU dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko were awarded special diplomas and presents. It was a web project. The contest exhibited creative works of young artists of Uman, each of those was awarded by the jury. The prizes were awarded by Nelia Skrypnyk, the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Olga Musyka, the Head of the Chair of Fine Arts, Associate Professor, Candidate of Science.


The instrumental duet of Vira Kalabska and Tetiana Radziwill, the teachers of the Chair of Music at USPU have amused the audience.


The art lovers were delighted to see the works of the talented youth. Students were free to create whatever they wanted. Their imagination was captured by the bright and colorful world around them. The leitmotiv of their paintings was love - love of life and light. In general, an exhibition of works of teachers and students of USPU in “Stara Uman” is a holiday for all artists of the cultural and artistic community of the city that has the ability to get an emotional boost to spark their own creativity, to feel aesthetic pleasure from the communication with great works of talented artists.
