The University Square near the new building. The area is decorated with the flag of Ukraine, University posters and colorful air balloons. There is a line of freshmen, triumphant with the music of a brass band, waiting for the solemn ritual ceremony. The University leaders and scientists in professorial garments are on the podium. The special guests, Anatoliy Petrenko, the Head of the Uman State Administration, and Galina Kucher, the Deputy Mayor, Deputy of the Regional Council are also present.

Natalia Pobirchenko, the Rector of the University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, corresponding member of National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine, was the first to take the floor:

"Dear freshmen, honored faculty, staff, students and parents! I congratulate you on the Day of Knowledge and starting of the new academic year! This is the day that puts the beginning to the road of future for all of us. It is always particularly festive and exciting, because now you are on the way of becoming a professional. It is an interesting and yet difficult path to knowledge, new challenges and independent life.

This year we have got a decent number of freshmen. We hope that you will quickly adapt to the school surroundings and feel as a part of the friendly student family; you will continue its success and impart your deep knowledge and talents. "

The honored guests were happy to welcome the freshmen. Anatoliy Petrenko, the Head of Uman State Administration noted the big role of the University in shaping the teachers community in Uman, praised the quality education of the future teachers, and wished the freshmen interesting and meaningful student life. Galina Kucher, the Deputy Mayor expressed her best wishes to the University on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge from Mayor Yuriy Bodrov, a former graduate of the University. The USPU freshmen and their parents received lots of warm greetings.

The University Student Council in the person of Oleksander Patara expressed very nice and emotionally charged greetings for the students, "The students of our University, which I have the honor to represent, are really happy with the fact that today our great friendly family expands! Student years pass very quickly, and our students have a great opportunity to open themselves to the world, learn the new conquer the unknown.

Of course, we are lucky because we have experienced teachers, bright personalities, wise mentors, internationally known scientists in our University.

Let us be proud that our University is considered to be one of the best educational establishments in Ukraine. Congratulations, dear Ukrainian students! "

Tetiana Trotsyuk, the mother of a University freshman was speaking on behalf of the parents with heart-felt and motherly greetings to the guests. The "Song about the Towel" nationwide favored song performed by Oleksandr Osadchiy, the Vice - Rector for Social Affairs of the University, continued the greetings.

And then "Ode to the Teacher “and " Song of the Teacher " accompanied with charming dancing of waltz, brought up a festive mood in everyone.

The most exciting moment of the ceremony was the presentation of the symbolic student ticket and symbolic key to the temple of science by Natalia Pobirchenko, the Rector of the University.

The freshmen have sworn the loyalty to our Alma Mater, promised to maintain and promote its glory, to carry the love of children, loyalty to their profession and the people of Ukraine through their entire life.

The ceremony was completed with " Gaudeamus " anthem - the song of students that brings together all the students of the world from the ancient times to the present.

We believe that the new students will find true friends in the University, enjoy the conditions for self and professional development in our tightly knit family.
