In the end of October at History Department took place the presentation of ethnological investigation by Vladyslav Davydyuk “Uman Streets History”. The event visited a head of Culture Department of Uman Town Council (UTC) Tetyana Geyko, a head of Archival Department of UTC Nelya Khodakivska, main architector of Uman Victor Lisachenko, main funds keeper of UTC Nelya Nagorna, DIAZ director “Old Uman” Oleksandr Melnychuk, project sponsor and enterpreneur Volodymyr Lauta, librarians, school teachers of the city, lecturers and students of the university.

A dean of History Department, head of scientific and research laboratory “Uman Regional Historic Ethnography”, Professor Tetyana Kuznets presented the audience an author of the investigation, research worker of Uman Regional Ethnography Museum and member of research laboratory “Uman Regional Historic Ethnography” Vladyslav Davydyuk. She mentioned that our city streets are considered to be not just transport highways, but arteries of the living organism, human fates secrets and histirical pages.

Author of the investigation told the audience about thoroughly process of information gathering and processing, and the way the third edition of the book-album was written. After, the author presented rich history and many interesting facts about one of the oldest city’s streets – Sadova Street. He demonstrated photoes from pre-revolutionary, war and postwar times which depicted the change of Sadova Street buildings. Special interest was raised by photos of buildings 2 and 28, as our university is situated here.

In the end of the meeting the guests thanked the author of the book Vladyslav Davydyuk and project sponsor Volodymyr Lauta, and wished them inspiration and success in further activity.

As a result of many years history of streets investigation the third book edition “Uman Streets History” enlarged the collection of city library funds and schools, our university library fund. Hence, everybody has a chance to use the library services and perceive the secrets of our city.
