USPU was holding "Ukraine studies in Taras Shevchenko heritage" nationwide scientific and practical conference, initiated by the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature. The conference was opened by Valentyna Koval, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of Ukrainian language and methods of training, Director of the Institute of Philology and Social Studies. She welcomed all participants and drew attention to the relevance of the chosen topic.

The coordinator of the conference was Olena Nakonechna, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of Ukrainian Language and Literature.

The participants of the forum were offered interesting reports focused on the modern understanding of creative works of the Great Poet. Dean Tetiana Lopushan shared the contemporary visions of Shevchenko and told everyone how his works were perceived. Associate Professor Leonid Kozynskiy summed up the contest for the best work of art (poetry, prose, drama) about the life and works of Taras Shevchenko held during a month in Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University.

The students recited the poetry of Taras Shevchenko and "Sofia" Ukrainian folk ensemble sang the songs of the poet.
