Some people create beauty in words, others captivate with marvelous sounds, and others impress with mesmerizing colors...

People show a unique beauty in their paintings. Joy and pleasure received from contemplating the painted masterpieces are shared with the artist in the process of knowing the world.

Olena Polishchuk, the Associate Professor of the University, a member of the National Union of Folk Art Masters of Ukraine, an Honored Master of Folk Art of Ukraine creates an extraordinary world of images in the world of beauty. Meeting of the first-year students of the Natural Sciences and Geography Department with Olena Polishchuk organized by the Scientific Library was held on November 7th and was dedicated to the Day of the artist who celebrated all fans of art in early October. In fact, days, dates and holidays are not so important for creativity because inspiration of the artist is timeless, incomprehensible and mysterious.

As a bee extracting nectar from the flowers and turning it into honey, so Olena turns the colors of life into the colors of art that smell of meadows and forests. Her paintings are flower of human happiness. In her creative work the master is trying to embody the feelings of the people in its folklore, but it illustrates it, and creates new aesthetic images in the magical world of folk art.

The artist opened to the students a mysterious world of art, told them about love of Ukrainian people to decorative painting, described and demonstrated a considerable number of paintings based on Ukrainian folk songs, epics, fairy tales, works of Taras Shevchenko, Vasyl Symonenko and other prominent personalities using a multimedia whiteboard. Much attention was paid to the works with the motifs of the pagan period, the legends and Tripoli epoch. Eternal artistic national codes are depicted on the paintings of the master.

The evening meeting with the talented artist has left unforgettable impressions in the minds of all the audience.
