In the beginning of December took place the fifth open championship of USPU in multiple barbell bench press.

A long-awaited tournament is traditional and very important. Each sportsman prepares thoroughly to the competition, as the aim of its organization is both healthy life style popularization and selection for World Championship.

In the competition participated 30 sportsmen from our city, among them USPU students and lecturers, and one sportsman from Bulgaria.

The competition was very well-organized under the aegis of Powerlifting Federation of Ukraine GPF/GPA in seven categories, which allowed carrying out I, II sport grades and CMS.

The results of the competition:

Weight category up to 67 kg
I place – Oleksiy Yevdeev,
II place – Oleksandr Svyd, <>br III place – Maksym Kuzmenko.

Second year student of Physical Education Department Ivan Mudrak carried out the III grade in this weight category.

Weight category up to 75 kg
I place – Vadym Shkolnyi,
II place – Andriy Semenov, lecturer at Theory and Methodology of Physical Training Chair (carried out the II grade)
III place – Yuriy Zhuravlev.

Weight category up to 82.5 kg
I place – Sergiy Ilchenko, lecturer at Sport Disciplines Chair (carried out CMS)
II place – Andriy Paraskun,
III place – Roman Romashyn, second year student of Physical Education Department (carried out the III grade).

Weight category up to 90 kg
I place – Andranik Mangian, forth year student of Physical Education Department (carried out CMS),
II place – Andriy Polishchuk,
III place – Oleksandr Garan, first year student of Physical Education Department (carried out the third grade).

Weight category up to 100 kg
I place – Mykola Polishchuk,
II place - Mykola Gaydaychuk,
III place - Vadym Kovalskyi, student of the university.

Weight category more than 100 kg
I place – Philip Gryschenko,
II place – Bogdan Dyrkach,
III place – Ruslan Maslyuk, lecturer at Sport Disciplines Chair (carried out III grade)

In the end of the competition the winners received diplomas, medals and T-shirts from tournament organizers.

It should be mentioned that a lecturer Sergiy Ilchenko and a student Andranik Mangian will represent our university at World Championship, which takes place from 12 until 14 of December this year in Kyiv.
