The recently held annual festival of pedagogical creativity at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University was the 24th one in the history of the institution. The congratulations of Natalia Pobirchenko, the Rector of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, corresponding member of NAPS of Ukraine on the beginning of the festival 2014 raised the optimism and confidence in everyone, encouraged creativeness.

The festival was dedicated to honoring the legacy of the famous local personalities, artists, educators and studying the current issues of pedagogy. Now, in the year of the 200th anniversary of the birthday of the great Ukrainian and world poet, painter, our national genius Taras Shevchenko, the festival was dedicated to celebration of the Jubilee. Taras Shevchenko is the symbol of freedom, independence and sustainability to everyone and this is the most important. The name of the great poet inspired and encouraged all the participants and spectators of the mass action!

The festival has become a magical action of the student teams of the Institute of Philology and Social Sciences (Director – Valentyna Koval, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor), Social and Economic Education Institute (Director – Galyna Bezverkhnya, PhD in Physical Training and Sports, Assistant Professor), Child Development Institute (Director – Olena Dudnyk, Ph.D. in History Science, Associate Professor) and Institute of Natural, Mathematical and Technologic Education (Director – Oleksandr Kobernyk, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor).

According to the program of the festival the first part of the concert was the presentation of the Institutes that became remarkable with the original presentations. The students have skillfully demonstrated their pedagogical creativity. The teams nicely and enchantingly presented each specialty!

The next stage is "Shevchenko's works in the eyes of the children." According to the rules, the teams guessed the works the plot of which was shown in the illustrations of children and in the recited passages. The task required maximum creativity and acting skills. (Honoring the memory of the great poet on the occasion of the anniversary, the Ukrainian schools were holding the contests of illustrations of the works of the poet, in which the students showed their creative vision of the artist).

It has been common knowledge since the ancient times that being a teacher is not too easy. In the modern world this job has become more complicated. Because the modern society is constantly in a whirlwind of change, it requires the specialists able of and willing to respond to these changes – the true experts. However, to become a master does not mean to stop one’s creative growth. The profession of a teacher is a difficult, thorny and inspired journey that begins from one’s student years and lasts the entire life. So the next stage of assignments involved a journey and provided an opportunity to demonstrate acting as an important aspect of teaching, responding to various challenging life situations.

Working with a student audience the teacher must be able to skillfully attract their attention. He or she should come up with interesting things to encourage the creative thinking of the students. A teacher is a kind of a conductor of the daily student choir. Therefore, the next task for the student teams was to demonstrate the ability and skills to work with the public. "Work with the audience" brought up turbulent emotions and much laughter!

The next and one of the most interesting phases of the festival was the “homework” on “Shevchenko and modernity.” Of course, this task is the favorite one of the students because they have excellent opportunities to open up as real creative individuals. The teams had to demonstrate their acting skills, creative abilities, scenic culture and fantasy. They needed to reveal the complexity of the works of famous Ukrainian poet in the contemporary times. The “homework” was the culmination of the festival. The people were convinced that a teacher must be resourceful, inventive and creative because this is the foundation for the teaching talent.

As the participants were preparing to go on stage the audience could enjoy the vocal talent of Olena Adamenko, the student of Elementary Education Department, who performed the "Mallows" song. The "Cheremshyna" song was performed by Yulia Lysyanska, the student of Arts and Pedagogics Department, the X- Factor Project.

The showcase of pedagogical skills was exciting and the time went so fast. The festival was an important step to improve the achievements, show the knowledge and skills required in the teaching profession. So the event was finished with the expected successful and positive outcome. Natalia Pobirchenko, the Rector of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences awarded the teams and thanked them for the excellent performance, wished them to reach incredible heights in the teaching creativity!
