At USPU was open a theatre studio for Student National Theatre.

On the occasion of its 15th anniversary Student National Theatre of Drama and Comedy (at Primary Education Department) received a long-waited present – its own theatre studio.

Solemnities dedicated to studio’s opening visited: pro-rectors and deans, students of the university, actors, guests from the capital – head of organization committee of All-Ukrainian competition “Theatre Triumph-2015” Lidiya Melnyck and coordinator of the project, stage director Olga Uspenska.

From the project to its realization passed almost 4 years. A great contribution from projects confirmation to repairs and solemn cutting of the ribbon, made rector of the university, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine Oleksandr Besludniy, pro-rector in economical matters Nataliya Petrenko, head of trade union committee Oleksandr Osadchiy, dean of Primary Education Department Borys Yakymchuk, head of district #2 of administrative and economic department Lyubov Lytvynyuk, workers of economic department, stage director of Student National Theatre of Drama and Comedy Nataliya Alekseeva, members of the theatre group.

The first pro-rector, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Andriy Gedzyck congratulated the theatre.

The author of the project, dean of Primary Education Department, candidate of psychological sciences, professor Borys Yakymchuk thanked those who participated in founding and creation of a new studio; the theatre members he wished new achievements and victories.

After solemn cutting of the ribbon (this mission was carried out by first pro-rector Andriy Gedzyck, dean of Primary Education Department Borys Yakymchuk and student of the theatre Nataliya Shkunyda) everybody examined a new room of theatre studio. There was a section for make-up, a section for dressing, the audience hall, stage, etc. The students would be able to have their rehearsals here, meet with guests and friends.

The guests watched an extract from play by Ivan Karpenko-Kariy “Hundred Thousand”, prepared by actors Nataliya Shkunyda and Oleksandr Scherbak.

Student National Theatre of Drama nad Comedy congratulated guests from Kyiv – Lidiya Melnyck, Olga Uspenska. They delivered rewards to stage director of the theatre Nataliya Alekseeva, Larysa Sauliak, rector Oleksandr Besludniy, head of trade union committee Oleksandr Osadchiy, dean of Primary Education Department Borys Yakymchuk.

Opening of the theatre studio is a big event for the university. Not each HEI has Student National Theatre, and not each theatre has its own studio!
