On the 21st of April in the framework of All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference “Future teacher in Philology development in the process of regional folklore study” was held a meeting of Chrysanth Yaschurzhynskyy Student Folklore Scientific Society, dedicated to traditional pysankys writing in Uman.

The atmosphere of old Ukrainian traditions presented a famous master in pysankys writing Svitlana Bas from Mankivka district.

Participants in the master class got to know the significance of symbols in pysanky, defined regional peculiarities in pysanky writing in Uman and learned how to write pysanky, using traditional methods.

In the end of the master class everyone created a pysanka that has magic protecting properties. The participants were convinced of power of meditation during pysankys writing, which anticipated mastering old technique and spiritual elation.

Moreover, after learning in the master how to write pysankys, students conducted master classes for their friends in the hostel of the university.

Revival of pysanky arts, especially among the youth is urgent, as nowadays Ukrainian pysanka belongs to the best samples of national arts and should take a particular part in folklore treasury of the countries all over the world.
