The Dnipro, the Kiev Rus, the land of Cossacks, Taras Shevchenko ... All these symbols in the history of Ukraine are related to one of the oldest cities in the Eastern Europe - Kaniv where the history of the Ukrainian nation was shaped on the slopes of the Dnipro cliffs, where rests the heart of the great Taras.

The main attraction of Kaniv is the Shevchenko Mountain which impresses everyone with its grandeur. The excursion recently organized by the department of educational work familiarized our students with the life and work of one of the legendary Ukrainian poet, the son of Ukrainian people, the great poet. This place is also called the Chernecha Mount or Tarasova Mount. Here, Taras Shevchenko, the son of Ukrainian people is buried under a high mound. When you climb the mountain to the grave of the poet you can see the stunning view of the Dnipro River and maybe understand what inspired the famous poet.

The Students of USPU visited the "Literary Kaniv" research department of the Shevchenko National Park established at the Library - Museum of A.P. Gaidar, the Museum of Folk and Decorative Arts, Kaniv Institute of Humanities of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University. The students returned home full of impressions of the tour and inspired by what they had seen. Therefore, if Ukraine is the place you always want to come back to, Kaniv is undoubtedly one of the places in Ukraine you want to visit again.
