Have you ever wondered how much beauty you could do if you had a deeper insight into your capabilities? Desires and fantasies allow the hands to create many brilliant things. Whether it’s a small trinket or a true future masterpiece it is all your creation, your pride, a bit of your soul. Many students devote their leisure time to creativity. For some of them it is a hobby, for others it might be a future profession. Drawing, beading, photography, decorative painting ... one can be impressed with the variety of creative approaches. Olena Zakharchuk, the graduate student of group 53 of the Visual Arts Department has introduced the talented students of that Department.

Olena Pavlenko, the second year student of group 25 admires the photo art and art panels. Here's what she says about her preferences:

- I have been fond of photography since the childhood. I would always look for some interesting things to take pictures of. Another hobby of mine is creating art panels. Some of those are the charms. I have read a lot about the symbolism of the Slavic amulets. It made me want to try to make them myself.

Maria Sergeeva, the graduate student of group 53 creates especially fabulous Christmas toys in Petrykivka style. Imagine a Christmas tree in your own decorations! Besides, Maria skillfully decorates the dishes. Among her recent works there are the wedding glasses. But that’s not all - the student has painted a table and a wall. A family tree in her room is another masterpiece of hers.

Iryna Yaschenko, the student of group 51 creates fancy things of paper. Modern Origami and Quilling are the most popular contemporary paper arts. Her hands create amazing swans, whales, various creatures and delicate flowers. The works of this student impress the teachers and decorate the interior of her room. Also, Iryna decorates the paintings and stands with the elements of Quilling. And she is very good at embroidering. She stitches the patterns of incredible beauty.

Yaroslava Serduk, the student of group 51 turns the glass into the awesome paintings. Her beautiful works radiate the harmony. Each of those has its own life, its own history and mystery. But let us hear what she says about her hobby herself:

- I have been practicing the technique of glass painting for about 5 years already. My first interest in this technology was awakened by Ivan Skolozdra, the famous Hutsul master. His works were so colorful, sincere with the childish simplicity and always extraordinary ... Over time I have developed my own style in this art. Especially exciting is the theme of women. I work with oil paints and often use additional materials - ink, foil contours for pseudo stained glass etc ... Painting on the glass is a technique that allows you to open and experiment, select various colors, shapes, possible scratches, spray, and more.

Olena Zakharchuk says:

- I am fond of painting, poetry and singing! I have a special passion for pysanky drawing. I am not that fond of the folk tunes. Instead, I’d rather create something extraordinary and bizarre. I truly enjoy painting small items and I plan ahead in that area a lot! In the future I dream of major exhibition of my own pysanky drawings. Another hobby of mine is Quilling. I create interesting combinations of colors, silhouettes of birds, volume compositions. I have recently discovered new hobby which is writing articles, especially about the talented people of my region. No matter how busy you are you should always find the time for nice little things, open some new opportunities and discover some talents! And do not forget to smile because it gives everything a positive start!
