Winter holidays – New Year’s Day, Christmas, Old New Year’s Day – return us into childhood, into the world of fairy tales, where one expects changes for better. According to Gregorian Calender, on the 14th of January St. Basil’s the Great Day is celebrated. This day coincides with the first day of New Year according to the old calendar, that’s why many customs are connected with this holiday.

On this day young men went from house to house, strewed with seeds “for happiness, for health and new summer”, wished the hosts “rye, wheat, and the other grains”. St. Basil is responsible for agriculture, therefore men strew with grains houses.

Accept our congratulations on New Year and St. Basil’s Day! We wish you long life! Health to everybody!
