In the end of the last week at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University was held expanded Scientific Coordinative Council Plenum “Languages Development Regularity and Language Practice” of O. Potebnia Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences Linguistics Institute under the title “History of Slavic Literary Languages: sources, people and ideas”. In the meeting took part Scientific Coordinative Council members, heads and professors of HEI chairs from different Ukrainian cities (Kyiv, Lutsk, Lviv, Odesa, Sloviansk, Kharkiv, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kamianets-Podilsky, and also teachers of Practical Linguistics Chair, Ukrainian Language and Teaching Methodology Chair, World Literature and Slavic Languages Chair from our university.

The Plenum meeting began a head of Scientific Coordinative Council Doctor of Philological Sciences, professor Viktor Brytsyn who reported on Kharkiv Plenum resolution realization (2013) and defined new directions of linguistic investigation.

The Plenum meeting members made speeches, dedicated to urgent problems of Slavic linguistics “Ukrainian toponymy as source of general Slavic linguistic processes” (prof. Vasyl Luchyk, National University “Kyiv Mogyla Academy”), “Ukrainian language ethics lexycography codification on Slavic examples” (prof. Mariana Scab, Yu. Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University), “Principles of ecology of Ukrainian literary language: problems, perspectives and possibilities” (prof. Mykola Mirchenko, Southern Europe National University), “History of Russian literary languagein academic O. Shahmatov conception” (prof. Volodymyr Glushchenko, Donbas State Pedagogical University), “I. Ogienko – Ukrainian historical and linguistic terminology founder” (senior scientific worker of Scientific Terminology Department at National Academy of Sciences Ukrainian Language Institute Iryna Kazymyrova), “Social and linguistic estimation of linguistic situation in Montenegro” (prof. Lyudmyla Vasylieva, Ivan Franko Lviv National University), “Sacred writings translation in Ukrainian language history (XVII c.)” (assistant prof. Oksana Zelinska, Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University) and others.

In reports discussion took part professors Viktor Chumak (O. Potebnia Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences Linguistics Institute), Nina Ivanytska (M. Kotsyubynsky Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University), Lyudmyla Marchuk (Ivan Ogienko Kamianets Podilsky National Pedagogical University), assistant professors Galyna Grymashevych (Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State Pedagigical University), Nataliya Tsymbal, Tetyana Tyshchenko, Vasyl Denysyuk (Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University).

As the result of Plenum the resolution was taken, in which the high level of scientific reports was admitted. There was a proposal to publish them in a scientific journal “Linguistics”. The problematic direction of the next Plenum was defined; linguistic laboratories creation necessaty was outlined.

The head of the council prof. Viktor Brytsyn thanked Nataliya Pobirchenko, rector of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, dean of Ukrainian Philology Department, prof. Valentyna Koval, head of Pactical Linguistics Chair assistant professor Nataliya Tsymbal, head of World Literature and Slavic Languages Chair assistant professor Galyna Osipchuk, assistant professor Tetiana Tyshchenko, Oksana Zelinska, Vasyl Denysyuk and other who took part in the meeting.

After the scientific part of the meeting, the participators of Plenum visited Sofiivka and scientific and cultural places of interest in Uman.
