Two centuries have passed since the birth of Taras Shevchenko, the poet and the genius of Ukrainian people. It was celebrated not only throughout Ukraine but also abroad. Poland has also participated in the celebrations this time.


The pupils of primary school № 3 named after St. Adalbert in Gniezno have honored the great poet. The event was held at the initiative of Radoslaw Sobkov'yak, the Director of the school. He has done a lot for the development of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation. USPU students Yuriy Hanushchak and Vladyslav Mazur who study in Poland joined the celebrations. During the meeting, they talked about the life and works of Taras Shevchenko. The audience was interested in the paintings of the great Ukrainian genius.



The atmosphere of celebration was touching and sincere. The highlight of the meeting was the art of poetry recitation in Polish and Ukrainian languages. The Polish youth recited the verses of the great poet with so much sincere emotion!
