After entering our university to get second higher education Oleksandr Shaboldov attrected everybody’s attention as he came to examinations dressed in bright embroidered blouse. It might be not so strange if that time (three years ago) embroidered blouses were as popular as nowadays. Besides, this boy was from… Lugansk region!

In the university Oleksandr is known as a diligent, clever student and a member of Mykola Bazhan literary union, an author of many poetic published works. Now he is a master student; he studies creative works of Prague school and its reception of “A word on Igor’s regiment”.

What made a person from Russian-speaking environment (his native town is situated on the territory of LNR) to identify himself as Ukrainian? Why is he fascinated by science? What is his poetry about? These and the other problems were discussed at a creative meeting with an unordinary person before Day of Native Language at our university.

Oleksandr Shaboldov declared his poems, was talking about significance of literature both for him and the society in general. According to his words, nobody would remember a story about Igor’s regiment if this even wasn’t masterly described in literature. He reminded of this year anniversary of the monument to the past and its significance in contemporary literature because of dramatic events in the east of Ukraine. Sasko identified himself as Ukrainian after he began to study history of Ukraine; a few years ago he decided to speak only Ukrainian.

Students listened to the speech with an interest, asked a lot of questions, even provoking. For example, what makes an author-man to write poems from the point of view of women (at the lessons of Literature Theory fifth-year students study gender approach to text analysis), etc. All the answers of the master student were worthy and exhaustive.

… We often want to listen to capital’s writers, ignoring talented people who are here, side by side. This time, the tradition was breaked at Philology Department.
