As always, the sounds of cheerful "Gaudeamus" anthem performed by the student choir began the Solemn Academy dedicated to the professional holiday of the scientists – the Day of Science at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University. The festive Academy of Sciences in the frames of the festival of science has become a tradition of our University. Experienced and young researchers, doctoral students and graduate students and other University students gathered in the assembly hall.
The masters of the grand event, Oleksandr Patara, the Chairman of the University Student Council and Larysa Saulyak, the Chairman of the Students Scientific Society introduced the honorable guests present at the festival – Oleksandr Tsebriy, the Acting Chairman of the City Council of Uman, Oleg Kozhemiako, the first Deputy Chairman of Uman District Governor, Valentyna Shvets, the Deputy Chairman of Uman District Council, Oksana Gerasimenko, the Head of Education Department of the City Council of Uman, Iryna Svitova, the Head of Methodology Unit of the Uman District Education Department of Uman District Administration. Greeting the University scientists, they all noted the great contribution of the scientific school of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University into the treasury of domestic science. They emphasized that our school has a great potential and it has maintained the connection of the generations and scientific traditions; there are good conditions for improving the research activities, promoting the development of schools and laboratories, supporting the young talented personnel in science.
Last year, the University scientists made a remarkable number of defenses of thesis for the degree of Doctor of Science, their achievements today are confirmed by the decision of the Certifying Board. Also, the number of Associate Professors of our University is increasing. The University science is continuously increasing the potential, the priority research areas are actively determined, new scientific schools are created, the students' research work is in progress. Every year the scientific achievements of the University receive national and international recognition confirming that Uman State Pedagogical University deserves to be one of the best higher educational establishments in Ukraine. So, on the eve of the professional holiday the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine awarded the teaching staff of the University for the outstanding contribution into the science and education of our country. Our scientists are invited to the ceremony of awards at the Ministry of Education headed by the Minister Sergiy Kvit.
During the solemn academy at the University Oleksandr Bezliudniy, the Vice-Rector handed the awards to the most prominent scholars of the University. Congratulations to the scientists were harmoniously combined with the performances of creative groups of the University.
The Day of Science at the University is not only the recognition of creative achievements, but also the incentive to further fruitful work. On the festive day, accepting the words of sincere gratitude for everyday inspired work, knowledge and expertise, commitment to innovation and scientific growth, the scientists have received a new impetus to achieve the new heights of science.
