On October 1, a round table "Modern trends of teaching foreign languages in Russia and Ukraine" meeting took place in Regional Centre of foreign languages teaching at Foreign Languages Department.

A senior lecturer of Foreign Languages Chair of Nondestructive Control Institute of Tomsk Polytechnic University (Russia) and lecturers of Foreign Languages Department of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University participated in the meeting.

The items of modern approaches in teaching English at non-linguistic specialties and possibilities for joint organization of the Internet competition in English for students of non-linguistic specialties were discussed during the meeting.

University lecturers had the opportunity to familiarize with the activity of Tomsk Polytechnic University (Russia) and discuss possible options for cooperation (scientific conferences, collections of scientific papers, etc.).
