On the 19th of March 2015, there was held a round table “Modern approaches to learning of the Ukrainian Language and Literature at school” at the Institute of Pedagogy of NAPS of Ukraine, which was dedicated to 90th anniversary of corresponding member of NAPS of Ukraine, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Oleksandr Mykhailovych Biliaev.

The scientific and methodological meeting was organized by the Ukrainian language and Literature studies department, which has been headed by a famous Ukrainian scientist and methodologist for 30 years. The scientist’s PhD students, doctorates and his followers were invited to the meeting. In the round table participated also representatives of our university’s Ukrainian Philology Department – doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, director of a scientific and methodological centre “National and linguistic personal development in the framework of continuing education” Lidia Mamchur and candidate of pedagogical sciences, assistant professor of Practical Linguistics Chair Iryna Kucherenko.

The welcoming speech was made by a director of the Institute of Pedagogy of NAPS of Ukraine, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Oleg Mykhailovych Topuzov.

During the work of the round table the contemporary linguists (doctor of pedagogical sciences Nina Holub, Mykola Vashulenko, Victoria Sidorenko, Zinaida Bakuma, Olena Horoshkina, Stanislav Karaman, Lidia Mamchur, Ivan Khomiak, Oksana Kucheruck, Sergiy Omelchuck, and candidates of pedagogical sciences Anatoliy Fasolia, Galyna Shelehova, Olga Karaman, Iryna Kucherenko, Valentyna Shliahova) were discussing urgent problems of Theory and Methodology of the Ukrainian Language teaching.
