On February 9, the nationwide (final) stage of III International linguistic and literary contest named after Taras Shevchenko was held in Cherkasy. It was attended by students of Ukrainian Philology Department. The graduate student Mariya Krayeva (the first place, supervisor – associate prof. Oksana Zelinska) and the third year student Iryna Bolshakova (the third place, supervisor – associate prof. Maryna Pavlenko) have also been won in II Regional stage of the competition, which was held at the Department of Ukrainian Philology in Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University on December 1, 2012.

The winners of the previous stage and their supervisors were rewarded before the final stage of the competition.

The winners of All-Ukrainian final stage will be determined a little later. Students Mariya Krayeva and Iryna Bolshakova are very inspired by their participation in the competition and are ready for new challenges, discoveries and work in the field of native language and literature.
