Cheerful applause, crowded assembly hall and a lot of bright emotions… This atmosphere prevailed in Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University on April 11 at the Department of Choreography and Arts (headed by Lyudmyla Androshchuk, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor). It was "The April Fairy 2014" Choreography Festival.

The festival was attended by about 600 young dancers aged 6 to 19 from different parts of Ukraine - Cherkasy, ??Vinnytsya, Odessa Oblast.

The jury included professional dancers, choreographers and leading teachers and choreographers of Cherkasy Oblast: Sergiy Zaharchun, the Head of Art and Staging of Cherkasy Oblast Philharmonic, soloist of the ballet group of Cherkasy Honored Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir, and Zhanna Zaharchun, the soloist of the same ballet group; Inna Tereshko, Associate Professor of choreography and artistic culture at USPU; Natalia Revnyuk, the Head of the Department of Educational Work of the University, a graduate of the Department of Choreography, Associate Professor. The jury was headed by Olena Dudnyk, Director of the Child Development Institute, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Dean of Arts and Pedagogics Department.

"The April Fairy 2014" Choreography Festival was held for the first time and the result exceeded all expectations. Bright participants with their talented and gifted leaders impressed everyone with superb performances in different genres. Their bright and amazingly creative costumes successfully complemented the dancing and singing and created truly majestic atmosphere.

The main prize ("The April Fairy 2014" Grand Prix) was awarded to participants of «Mir_a_dance» modern jazz dance studio from Odessa City Palace of children and teenagers. It was a fierce but fair contest. The highest award of the festival was given to Yulia Myrovska, the artistic director of the team. The award was handed by Natalia Pobirchenko, the Rector of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, corresponding member of NAPS of Ukraine.

Participants of the festival were awarded diplomas of I, II and III degrees, and the brightest performances were awarded with diplomas for "The best choreographic performance."

Ludmyla Androshchuk, the initiator of the festival, thanked all the participants of the event. Special gratitude for assistance in organizing the festival was voiced ??for Natalia Pobirchenko, the Rector of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, corresponding member of NAPS of Ukraine, Olena Dudnyk, Director of the Child Development Institute, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor; the masters of the ceremony: Ludmyla Hekalyuk, the Head of the Social Connections Department, Gennadiy Plaksiuk, the dance teacher at Uman city school and Oleg Gonchar, the sound engineer of the University.

At the end of the awards ceremony the students of "Choreography" specialty surprised the guests with a flash mob dance that inspired the audience to join the dance, so much emotion it exhibited.

The organizing committee of the festival created perfect conditions for a comfortable stay in the University - the kids had a chance to talk to the students- choreographers of Arts and Pedagogics Department and to hear first-hand about the specifics of their education. All groups received memorable badges featuring the logo of the festival and visited the famous "Sofievka" arboretum.

The first and certainly not the last "April Fairy 2014" festival was a great dance full of unforgettable moments. It has flared a tremendous amount of positive emotions, filled the souls with boundless enthusiasm and deepened the experience for further creative growth.
