The Chair of Musical Arts of the Arts and Pedagogics Department of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University prepared and held "Gifted Family - Gifted Child" large-scale artistic and educational event dedicated to the family. The creative project was attended by talented children, families and groups of Shevchenko region, Odessa and Zhitomir regions.

The authors of the idea and script writers of the artistic and educational project, - Zoya Syrota, the Associate Professor of the Chair of Music, and Svitlana Radchenko, the senior teacher of the Chair of Music picked such plaintive and heartfelt words about the community, family and his home, family hearth and the one who maintains it (wife, mother, grandmother) that everyone was deeply moved. “My family is a home, a spacious yard, a flower garden, a fountain of pure fresh water”, they said. “Those are the sunlit and dewy mornings and evenings of quiet songs, mother's embroidery, legends and fairy tales and sayings of the wise people ... The child learns to love and to be kind in the family, to respect the family, the native land, to keep the memory of the ancestors."


The art event began with the "Welcome" song performed by "Kobzar" Ukrainian folk choir (directed by Vasyl Semenchuk, the Honored Worker of Culture Ukraine, Assistant Professor of music) and "Yavoryna" national amateur folk dance ensemble (directed by Sergiy Kutsenko). "Sofia" Ukrainian folk ensemble (directed by Vasyl Semenchuk) performed a very relevant and inspiring song of "Our wonderful family".


Life begins with the mother. She is the dearest person in the world that gives us the life, the first breath, helps us to make the first steps, to learn the first words. The young artists were trying to convey the feelings about mother to the audience. The team of "Indigo" school of pop singing (artistic director being Anastasia Cheshehorova) sincerely performed the "Mama" song. The choreographic performances "Lullaby for Mom" by Olena Gonchar and her daughter Maria and "The dream about my mother" by "Krok Vpered" dance group (artistic director - Victoria Hlobchak, a former graduate of the University), have truly impressed the audience. It should be noted that "Krok Vpered" author's dance studio of Victoria Hlobchak brings together nearly 150 pupils from three to sixteen years of age. The team is a winner of many international, national festivals and projects, it is included in the "Young Ukraine pride" Encyclopedia of Children's Creativity.



The creative life of Victoria Hlobchak is closely connected with "Friends" dance group which she has been heading for 2 years. The choreographed performances are impressive with a friendly vitality and folk wisdom. The uniqueness of this group is that the age of the participants is not limited; it ranges from sixteen to seventy three years old. "Friends" has won the Grand Prix of the International festival in Kharkiv. On stage, the team presented the cheerful "Krakowiak" performance.


The audience learned about the "PisneZnayka" project successfully implemented in the secondary school № 4 in Uman by Larysa Tukalevska, the teacher of the highest category. There is a musically gifted girl, Nastya Hekalo, in her class. Creative development of the girl is generously fostered in the family: her parents and grandparents were all musicians, teachers of Uman Humanitarian and Pedagogical College. "Do good for everyone" from the repertoire of Natalia May was performed by members of the family dynasty Anastasia and Eugene Hekalo.


The youngest member of the project, Konstantyn Tereshchuk and his mother Olga Tereshchuk, a teacher Uman College of Music, winner of the International Competition performed "Feeling good" piano play which caused a flurry of applause. And Vira Tereshchuk, their mother and grandmother, teacher of music at Uman school № 4, sang her own song in the duet with Eugenia Koltsova, her former student and the current student of USPU.



The talented couple of Yeugene and Olena Krasovskys, who presented their "Ordinary Miracle" song along with their five children, impressed the audience with their sincerity and warm feelings.


There are 6 children in the family of Oksana and Oleg Syrota, the artists and USPU graduates in the past. All of them are gifted in arts - painting, singing, writing poetry ... The sisters Stephania, Sophia and Liya enchanted the audience their vocal talent.


Stormy applause sounded for "Silver Strings" bandura ensemble and "Watercolors" domra ensemble of Shevchenko specialized boarding school with advanced study of humanitarian and aesthetic subjects. This unique institution directed by Lina Tereshchenko, the Honoured Worker of Education of Ukraine, holder of "Order of Dutchess Olga" has been helping the talented, gifted children from all over Ukraine.



The school of Leonid Yatlo, the winner of international and national contests, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, Assistant Professor of music at USPU, president of "AEDA" cultural and educational initiatives and Lyudmyla Yatlo, the senior teacher of the Chair of music, the artistic director of "AEDA" is the phenomenon of innovative educational practices. Everyone was fascinated with the singing of "AEDA" pupils.


"New Era" choreographic group of secondary school number 3 in Uman also visited our artistic and educational project and presented their "Unusual chess party" choreographic performance.


Virtuous performance was demonstrated by Svitlana Bez'yazychna, the young and talented daughter of famous Uman musicians Gennady Bez'yazychniy and Natalia Abdulina. They played the Chopin’s waltzes. Svitlana has been on the scene since four years old. She won the Grand Prix, the first and the second place at many international, national festivals and competitions of children's performing arts.


Victoria Mozharovska and "Rainbow" choreographic group from Irshansk city of Zhytomyr Oblast impressed everyone with their plastics.


“TheBest” jazz vocal quartet from Baltic School of Arts in Odessa Oblast was also a bright participant of the festival. The ensemble soloist Kateryna Kravchenko captivated the audience with a virtuoso jazz composition, and demonstrated her incredible artistry and sense of style in a quartet with Yevgenia Koda, Galyna Voloshchuk, Anastasia Khomenko.


Veronika Yakovenko, the pupil of Khrystynivka city children's music school specializing in piano and solo singing, has showed a significant experience despite her young age. She is the winner of regional and national contests and festivals - Grand Prix in the category of "pop singing", a title of "Vocalist of the Year" for gifted children, repeated winner of the "Karaoke on the Square" TV show where she received the title of "Best Folk singer of Ukraine 2012". So her performance on the stage of the University has become irreplaceable for this holiday.


"Born in the sunshine" choreographic performance by "Krok Vpered" dance group and the "Family" song performed by Vasyl Semenchuk and Petro Voloshyn, the Honored Workers of Ukraine, Assistant Professors of the Chair of Music and was the final decoration of artistic and educational project. It confirms that a family is a hearth of life that creates the highest value, the flower of the nation - gifted children.



Congratulating the participants of the art project, Olena Dudnyk, Director of the Child Development Institute, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Dean of Arts and Pedagogics Department and Dmytro Baldynyuk, the Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine, Head of the Music Department, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work presented the festival participants with valuable gifts. They expressed the wish that the artistic and educational project should be a traditional family holiday, unite the people in the attempt of making the world around us kinder and better. "Let your life be happy, let the sky be cloudless and the destiny favorable on our prosperous land! We always look forward to welcoming you at our University!"
