Recently in the assembly hall of the university took place an event – presentation of poetic collection “Philosophy of War”. It’s author is a professor, head of Social Sciences Chair and a famous poet Anatoliy Karasevych.

In the in the introduction the author mentioned that his forth book is dedicated to soldiers in ATO. The collected volume contains more than 200 poems written for last 20 years. The author had an idea to collect poems about war in one book after presentation of previous collection “Temple of Future”.

Plot of “Philosophy of War” depicts hard times in Ukraine – Second World War, the war in Afghanistan (1979-1989), and the nowadays war on the territory of Eastern Ukraine, which is called ATO. The main idea of the book is a war as a crime, national grief, big pain and unjustified losses.

Traditionally, in presentations of books by Anatoliy Karasevych took part students and lecturers of our university. Except the author, his poems were recited by assistant professor Vasyl Semenchuk, senior lecturer Valentyn Kupchyk, assistant professor Petro Voloshyn, methodologist of Ukrainian Philology Department Larysa Sauliak, head of Culture and Leisure Activities Centre Lyudmyla Gekalyuk, and students Vitaliy Slobodyanyk (Ukrainian Philology Department), Maria Pashchenko, Myroslava Stetsko, Olga Makarenko, Daria Riabokon (History Department).

Some of Anatoliy’s poems were set to music that became songs “Crane”, “Mother Ukraine” performed by duet “Melody” and “Mother’s court” performed by vocal male trio “Gonta”.

The presentation of the book “Philosophy of War” visited special guests – wife of the hero Anatoliy Slonskyi, mothers of heroes Oleksiy Kurmashev and Igor Shliamar who died by protecting independence of our country. To commemorate the heroes the author dedicated them the following poems “In memory of Anatoliy Slonskyi”, “Goodbye, soldier” (dedicated to Igor Shliamar), “The forth” (dedicated to Oleksiy Kurmashev”, “Let’s make mention of them”.

The event ended with patriotic song “Fame to Ukraine” which was performed by trio “Gonta”, and a poem “Good memories” dedicated to the soldiers.

Deputy dean in education work at History Department Olga Skus, Anatoliy’s colleagues at Social Sciences Chair, representatives of publishing house expressed their gratitude to Anatoliy Karasevych.

The author presented his books to all willing people. Anatoliy Oleksandrovych has a lot of plans for creative work. It would be great if the next author’s collection were dedicated to happy and peaceful life in independent Ukraine!
