On the basis of the "Stara Uman" State Historical-Architectural Reserve there was "Polish-Ukrainian relations in the context of European history of XVI - XXI century" Polish-Ukrainian scientific conference. Beside "Stara Uman" State Historical-Architectural Reserve the conference was organized by World History and Law Department, the History of Ukraine Department, the Polish Cultural Centre of USPU, and the Institute of History of the Academy of Jan Dlugosz in Czestochowa (Poland).


Anatoliy Karasevych, Professor, Dean of the History Department at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University was reaching out to the audience with a speech.


The educational Institutions of Uman and Czestochowa are united in a long lasting fruitful cooperation since 2008. At the May conference a wide range of mutual and controversial historical issues of the neighborhood of Polish and Ukrainian peoples was discussed. The dialogue took place in a constructive and tolerant atmosphere. Participants also learned about the exhibition of copies of archival photographs, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Polish January Uprising of 1863.
